Principal, Dr. Kathy Carr

Dr. Kathy Carr has been principal of Holy Rosary School since 1998. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Education from Tulane University in New Orleans and her Master of Arts and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Seattle University. She is certified as a principal and as a superintendent in the state of Washington. Dr. Carr is a member Principals Institute at Harvard University - Phi Delta Kappa, and the Council of Professors of Instructional Supervision. She is a member of the Professional Development Committee for the Catholic Schools Department and the Educational Leadership Council, a consortium with Seattle University and the Archdiocese of Seattle.

Prior to her current position, Dr. Carr taught at Our Lady of Fatima School in Seattle for seven years. During that time, she served on Archdiocesan curriculum committees and the pilot testing of the WASL. Other teaching assignments have included grades one through five in public and Catholic schools in Arizona, California, Louisiana, and Utah.

Dr. Carr has four grown married children and ten grandchildren. Her three sons and their wives live in Seattle and her daughter and son-in-law live in Oregon. She enjoys both the visual and performing arts, especially symphony and opera performances. She loves to read anything but science fiction. Dr. Carr has an affinity for the ocean and flowers. She is affirmed on a daily basis by her cock-a-poo, Dante.

Development Director, Ms. Joan Sobba

Joan graduated from Washington State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Communications. Her career began in the advertising and special events arenas, as an Account Executive for Evan Pacific Advertising Agency and as the Director of Special Events and Public Relations for the Bon Marche. Eventually, she began fundraising for Our Lady of Fatima School, where her children were students and then on to Childhaven raising money as their Events Manager. Joan began working for Holy Rosary School in March of 2008 as Development Director.

Ms. Joan Sobba was born in Tacoma, Washington and attended St. Charles Borromeo until the seventh grade. Her father’s career, (a marketing/sales executive in the beer industry), moved the family to the mid west, where they enjoyed time in St. Louis, Chicago, Green Bay, San Antonio and eventually a return to the Seattle area.

Joan has five children; Andrew, a recent graduate of WSU, Molly and Beth who both attends Gonzaga University, and twin sons, Patrick and Christopher who attend Bishop Blanchet High School. Their ‘lively’ home is further enhanced with the addition of Emmy, a three year old golden retriever, Griffey, a two year old lab and Buster, an eleven year old feline predator who has successfully achieved sovereignty over the house and all of its inhabitants.

Secretary, Ms. Michelle Cimaroli

Michelle Cimaroli was born in Miami Beach, Florida. From the age of one month to thirteen years she lived in St. Maarten, Netherlands Antilles. At the age of thirteen she moved to very cold Chicago, Illinois. After too many years of bitter temperatures, she moved to Washington.

Ms. Cimaroli has been employed at Holy Rosary School since 2003. She is currently the school secretary. Prior to her employment at Holy Rosary, she spent a year relaxing after working four long years at Microsoft in the Leadership Development Group.

Ms. Cimaroli’s daughter, Ashley, is a graduate of Holy Rosary School and Bishop Blanchet High School.
