Holy Rosary Annual Speech Tournament

It is our goal to make the speech tournament an interesting and enjoyable learning experience for all of the students. We have assigned specific types of speeches for each grade so that all students will have the opportunity to prepare several different types of speeches by the time they graduate from eighth grade.  

Teachers in the upper grades will be using language arts time to teach the students how to write and perform the various speeches.  The teachers may ask the students to practice parts of their speeches during class time.  However, the bulk of the preparation and practicing will be done at home.

Types of speeches and the scoring rubrics are listed. Note that the maximum length for each speech in grades 3-7 will have a time limit of four minutes.
